Questas Group is pleased to announce the acquisition of The Winnellie Group
Questas Group are excited to announce that we have acquired a majority investment in The Winnellie Group. The Winnellie Group is a highly successful, diversified family of companies that provides hydraulics, valves, tools and equipment to the oil and gas, mining, marine and petrochemical industries. The Group is made up of three primary businesses – Winnellie Hydraulics based in the Northern Territory, Winnellie Valve & Process in Queensland and Waltan Tools & Equipment in South Australia. All businesses operate nationally with Winnellie Valve and Process also selling into Southeast Asia.
The Winnellie Group was founded by Richard and Carol Nicholson in 1983. Their son, Max Nicholson, will remain on as General Manager and guide the business through its next phase of growth. We are looking forward to benefitting from Max and the Winnellie team’s knowledge, experience, passion, and expertise, which will no doubt be a valuable addition to the Questas team.
The Winnellie Group is an excellent fit for Questas, with operations primarily in one of our core business areas of hydraulics services. This acquisition will provide Questas with a highly valued, established presence in the broader Darwin hydraulics market, where The Winnellie Group have an excellent reputation for their products, service, and unmatched longevity – having been a respected local supplier for over 40 years. In addition, Winnellie Valve & Process and Waltan Tools & Equipment present an opportunity for Questas businesses to provide a new range of quality products and services into our established customer base.
The Nicholson family remains extremely committed to the continued success of Winnellie Group, with the family retaining an economic interest in Winnellie Group.
The Winnellie Group will transition into Questas Group in September 2023 and will continue to operate as an independent brand. Winnellie will remain at their existing premises and continue operating as usual, but now with the added backing and support of Questas Group.
